John Johnson married Elizabeth Maverick 15 October 1656

John Johnson was born about 1632 in Kent England, the son of William Johnson and Elizabeth Story.  On 15 October 1656, in Haverhill MA, he married Elizabeth Maverick, daughter of Elias Maverick and Anne Harris. 

The following information comes from his Find-A-Grave entry, posted by “Bev”.  Lt. John Johnson was a farmer and blacksmith. He moved Autumn of 1658 to Haverhill, Essex County, Massachusetts. On 3 March 1674/75 at Haverhill, Essex County, Massachusetts, John married Sarah Keaser, daughter of George Keyser and Elizabeth Holyoke. He was an officer during King Philip’s War. On 8 September 1680 at Haverhill, Essex County, Massachusetts, John married Catherine Skipper, daughter of William Skipper. Lt. John Johnson served in 1691 at Haverhill, Essex County, Massachusetts, as a Representative to the Massachusetts General Court. He left a will on 11 June 1696 at Haverhill, Essex County, Massachusetts. He died on Wednesday, 29 August 1708 at Haverhill, Essex County, Massachusetts, by Indians.

He was buried at Pentucket Cemetery in Haverhill MA.  The photo shows an old double headstone sinking into the ground.
